Where to Play Darts in Stevenage

Setting up a New Team

If you would like to set up a new team in one of the Stevenage Leagues, please contact the relevant league for specific details however, here is some general information to get you started:

  • The season runs from September until Spring
  • League AGMs tend to be in August
  • Matches need a minimum of 6 players, up to 12 players can play in some leagues
  • You will need a squad of at least 8 dedicated players with additional ad-hoc players to cover for holiday etc.
  • Expect at least 2 players to dropout after Christmas!
  • You need a good quality dartboard with chalkboard or whiteboard both sides, one for scoring and the other listing the teams
  • Dartboards and raised oche need to be setup to United Kingdom Darts Association (UKDA) Rules (Rule 6)
  • Ideally the dartboard should be positioned away from walkways or frequently used doors so that people do not walk into the players eyeline when throwing
  • Some leagues now allow electronic scoring however, only on tablets and using specific apps
  • It’s traditional for the home team to provide food for both sets of players at League games

Youth Darts

Unfortunately there are no organised Youth Leagues or Dart Academies in the local area. Older youth players do play in the local leagues and tournaments, with most venues allowing entry to those Under 18s if they are playing in a darts team.

Joining a Team

If we know about any teams looking for new players, we will list them at the bottom of this page.

Playing in local tournaments or attending a game (you can seach for fixtures by venue, league or team) is the best way to make contacts.
